Net external assets for U.S. states
Here I present rough estimates of net external assets for 8 regions and 51 states of the U.S.A. in 1977-2001. Net external assets were derived from the data on gross state product and state personal income; I present them in % of gross state product. This work was supported by a grant of the CERGE-EI Foundation, Global Development Network, grant number GRC III-064, and by a grant of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic, number 402/04/0642. The construction of the given estimates is described in paper "Distribution of Net External Assets in Regions and States of the U.S.A.," presented in the Academic CV. The given database characterizes capital flows among U.S. states. For example, a decline of net external assets over time means a capital inflow.
